This concept was created by Sammy Flores, a former Mexican soccer player. Since 2009 it’s been an American dream inspiration for the surrounding city due to being a small and minority-owned business. Their primary focus is fresh ingredients, and they strive to collect local ingredients, which helps build their community. Their most popular burger is their signature Sammy burger, topped with a fried egg, bacon, mozzarella, field greens, tomato, and a secret sauce.
8. Quatrain Cafe – 2434 Quatman Ave Norwood, Ohio 45212 & 224 West Main Street Mason, Ohio 45040
Since 1966 this grill has been serving the Norwood community. High school buddies Also and Ken merged their ideas and crafted a one-of-a-kind place to grab a meal. They do simple yet filling half-pound burgers topped with the basics, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. They acquire their ingredients from local sources and offer a vast menu aside from burgers, like mock turtle soup, for example. Quatrain Cafe has grown and has two locations in Norwood and the other in Mason.

Three days a week (Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday), they host “Burger Madness,” where you can top your patty with anything you want for no extra charge, although you are limited to six kinds of cheese.

This little eatery has fought to the top despite its grand opening during the summer of 2020 when the pandemic hit. Good Plates Eatery focuses on simple foods with immense flavor. Their menu has plenty to choose from, including sandwiches, salads, and quinoa bowls. Their burgers are what keep us coming back for more, though. They offer juicy options for meat-eaters and vegetarians and cook everything on a flat-top grill.

National Kitchen & Bar first launched in 2015 and rapidly expanded due to its success. Currently working on a third location. This restaurant offers monthly fundraising specials, apps, salads, sandwiches, etc. Their burgers are well-known and can be meaty or a housemate’s spicy black bean. The National Burger is the most famous, which includes two beef patties, smoked cheddar, onion straws, horseradish aioli, and homemade BBQ sauce.
3. Stellar Street Eats – 6663 Salem Road Cincinnati, OH 45230
This newer addition to the burger scene has quickly gained traction and approval. Stellar Street Eats is an eye-catching matte black food truck with a forthcoming location in Anderson Township. Owned by a husband and wife, Ryan and Ashley, this place is full of passion and allure. Their creations are made from scratch, which landed them on the CityBeat’s Best of Cincinnati burger list. This quick and casual operation plans to open its permanent location in July and keep the food truck concept going.
2. Roney’s – 314 Chamber Drive, Milford, OH 45150
A landmark in Union Township since 1969, Roney’s is part of the Roy Rogers chain of eateries. It became Roney’s after the Roy’s dissolved. Roney’s serves comfort food and offers quick on-the-go service through their drive-thru window. Their menu has many unique options, such as its Lucky R Burger, a quarter-pound beef patty topped with sliced ham and served between a sesame seed bun.
1. Zip’s Cafe – 1036 Delta Ave., Mount Lookout, OH 45208
Zip’s Cafe holds quite a bit of history, and it began in 1926 as a bar that ran under the table books for local horse tracks. Over the last century, they have evolved into one of the most well-known eateries. This Mount Lookout staple offers classic American favorites, such as cheeseburgers and French fries. Their service is superb, and their meat is delivered fresh daily. You can taste their meat’s freshness and simple yet delicious toppings.
